Greater Springfield Senior Services, Inc., founded in 1972, is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to maintaining a quality of life for older adults, caregivers and persons with disabilities. This mission is achieved through the provision of programs and services which foster independence, dignity, safety and peace of mind.
We promote the right of all individuals to live with dignity in the setting of their choice by offering information, services, and the support needed to make informed choices which will enhance their well-being and independence.
These services are either provided by Greater Springfield Senior Services, Inc, (GSSSI) or by agencies we contract with. Services include:
Navigating the elder care network can be challenging and time consuming. Our Information and Referral (I&R) Department serves as the agency's central access point to GSSSI services and can help you find information on local and national elder care resources as well. Greater Springfield Senior Services, Inc. is a state-designated Aging Services Access Point (ASAP) and a federally-designated Area Agency on Aging. We serve: Agawam, Brimfield, East Longmeadow, Hampden, Holland, Longmeadow, Monson, Palmer, Springfield, Wales, West Springfield and Wilbraham.
Greater Springfield Senior Services is a member of the Pioneer Valley Aging and Disability Resource Consortium which consists of WestMass Elder Care, Inc,, Stavros Center for Independent Living, Inc.; Highland Valley Elder Service Center, Inc.; and Franklin County Home Care Corporation.
GSSSI and its programs are funded in whole, or in part, by contracts with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs.
