Greater Springfield Senior Services, Inc. offers a wide range of services (listed below) for people 60 years of age and older and for caregivers. Eligibility requirements vary, so contact our Information and Referral Department staff that can help identify which services best suit your needs.
Adult Day Care
Day care programs offer supervision, social activities, and lunch for elders who require daytime support at sites other than the home. It also provides respite for caregivers and support for working families who cannot stay home during the day.
Adult Family Care Program
Provides a supportive family environment for people with disabilities who need extra assistance and housing.
Caregiver Support
Offers caregivers information about services and short-term individual or family consultation.
Case Management
Provides free in-home-assessment, care planning, information about resources, and ongoing monitoring of services.
Companion Escort
Provides medical transport for eligible clients who have no means of transportation.
Home Care Program
Provides state-subsidized services to eligible elders who need assistance so they may continue to live safely at home.
Long-Term Care Ombudsman
Provides advocacy for residents of nursing and rest homes in order to improve quality of life and care.
Money Management
Matches trained and insured volunteers with older adults who need help writing checks, balancing their checkbooks, and budgeting monthly income.
Nursing Home Screening
When living at home is no longer possible, GSSSI Registered Nurses conduct pre-admission nursing home screening for Medicaid clients.
Personal Care Attendant Program
Supports consumers who control the design and delivery of their personal care services.
Protective Services
Investigates allegations of abuse, financial exploitation, neglect or self-neglect; provides ongoing casework, and coordinates service plans designed to alleviate risk/abuse.
