Popularly known as "Meals-on-Wheels", this federally funded service is a national program administered locally to deliver well-balanced, lunchtime meals to frail, homebound individuals who are at least 60 years of age. Elders are asked to make a $2.00 donation per meal to help underwrite a portion of the cost of the meal.
GSSSI delivers hot lunches to elders living in Brimfield, Hampden, Holland, Palmer, Springfield, Wales, and Wilbraham. Meals are delivered Monday-Friday. Regular meals, modified meals for diabetics, and Kosher meals are available. Those who have difficulty chewing or swallowing can request a pureed meal.
Modified Menu (same as the Regular Menu except dessert as noted)
This is an opportunity for those over 60 who wish to remain independent, maintain social distancing and pick up a delicious, healthy lunch.
Due to the current health emergency, community dining services have been suspended.
