Volunteer Opportunities
Want to feel good about yourself and help someone else at the same time? Our trained volunteers meet new people, develop new skills, discover new experiences, and most importantly, participate as a member of a dynamic team working to make life a little easier for elderly people.
Companion Escort
Volunteer Companions provide:
- Medical transport, giving elderly clients rides to and from medical appointments
- Grocery shopping assistance, taking elders shopping or doing their shopping for them.
If you have a valid drivers license, insurance, a good driving record, and a few hours a month to spare, you could be a Companion Escort. Volunteer Companions can designate hours each week or month that they are on-call.
Congregate Meal Site Volunteer
If you prefer a more social setting, consider volunteering at a community congregate meal site where older adults receive nutritious noon time meals and the opportunity to socialize. Volunteers may set tables, serve food, wipe down trays.
Money Manager
Trained and insured volunteer Money Managers spend a few hours a month with older adults who need assistance with budgeting, paying bills, and keeping track of financial matters.
Long Term Care Ombudsman
State trained and certified volunteers meet individually with area nursing home and rest home residents to provide assistance with advocacy, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
Office Support
Volunteers provide operational support through clerical and data entry assistance.
